The last 2 months have been a bit hectic, which is why I haven't been posting. I trained for and completed a half marathon, we hosted family at our house for Thanksgiving, and I've just finished my Christmas shopping and most of the wrapping.
In the meantime, Katelyn has been growing like crazy, and of course learning lots of new tricks. First, her 4-month stats:
Height: 26 inches, 96th percentile!
Weight: 14 lb 4 oz, 52nd percentile
Head circumference: 16.14", 62nd percentile
She is cooing and babbling, grabbing objects and usually getting them to her mouth, rolling over sometimes, holding her head and chest up when on her stomach, smiling a lot, and the best part - sleeping 9+ hours almost every night! Recently she has started waking up at 2 am again, hungry. Her pediatrician says her stomach is no longer big enough to keep her full and she needs to start eating rice cereal, so we're going to start that today and hope it helps her sleep longer at night.
I start back to work in about 3 weeks, and I'm very nervous Katelyn will have trouble adjusting. She seems very attached to me and has a hard time taking a bottle, even when I'm not there. There aren't many other people, except Dad, that she will let hold her for much time. Even grandma gets the pouty lip most of the time. We've had grandma watch her a few times and a babysitter once, plus she spent 4 hours at a daycare we were looking into. The only one that supposedly went without a hitch is the daycare stay, and I'm guessing they just didn't tell me the bad parts. I suppose Katelyn will get used to it soon enough, but I do think my extra time at home will make it harder for her. It is nice for us while it lasts, though!
Samantha is really enjoying being a big sister. She's always letting us know when Katelyn grabs a ring on her bouncer, or rolls over. She likes to help pick out her sister's clothes and pjs, and wants to match with her sometimes. She's sharing her "baby" toys and books, which is nice - I hope it all lasts!
4 month sleep regression! Phoebe and Charlotte both had those. I hope it won't last too long.
ReplyDeleteKatelyn is so cute! I know it will be hard to go back to work, but I know she'll do just fine. It's always an adjustment.
