Nursery Progress

Lawrence went to work on painting the nursery this weekend. See how happy he is? Seriously though, he is really great to put more than 8 hours of work into the room by himself this weekend. It was hard for me to not help - I felt lazy sitting on the couch while he toiled away. I did cook a big Easter dinner later in the afternoon, though. However, on Sunday Lawrence gave Calvin a bath, too, which definitely made him the household chore winner for the weekend!

The colors turned out pretty nice once they dried. The ceiling and blue wall are done and he got the first coat of the edging done for the tan walls.

On Sunday morning I hid 28 candy-filled plastic Easter eggs throughout the house for Lawrence to find. I made it pretty easy by hiding most of the eggs in plain sight, but some of them were a little harder. I think it took him about a half hour to find them all. Of course we then proceeded to eat WAY TOO MUCH chocolate. I got out a stuffed bunny Lawrence gave me for Easter several years ago that we're saving for baby girl and of course Calvin thought it was a toy for him. I took the opportunity to try and teach him that baby toys are not his to play with. I put a little baby powder on it so that it would smell like it might smell once the baby starts playing with it, and then held it in front of his face to smell. Every time he tried to bite it I told him no. He eventually got the idea, I think, but I'm guessing we'll still probably lose a few baby toys along the way!

Baby girl is still moving around plenty. I've read that they start to slow down in the 3rd trimester, but not her! The other day she was doing something crazy in there because it felt like a quick and violent spasm in belly. It wasn't like when she gets the hiccups and there is a rhythmic beat to the spasms. I was a bit worried that something was wrong with her, but then she started making normal movements again pretty soon after. I suppose as long as she's still moving, that's a good sign!

  1. I can't wait to see what the paint will look like once finished. It is soo cute that you hide eggs for Lawrence! I meant to do something Easter-ish, but never got around to it.

Also, I think what you did with Calvin is a great idea. I've been thinking about getting the boys ready.

  2. I can't speak for all dogs, but I must admit, we have been surprised at how well Norman has done with Lindsey's toys!!! The hardest ones for him to understand are the ones that squeak and the stuffed animals, but he usually will only grab these when he is riled up and wants to play. :) Overall, he does a great job with Lindsey's toys... and with Lindsey!!! She ADORES Norman!! They are really good pals! :)
